Creative Biolabs has demonstrated the long-term maintenance of differentiated human hepatocytes as well as the utility of our hepatitis B-on-a-chip model. Our in vitro human hepatocyte culture systems mimic the environment and cellular architecture of the liver and can be used for diverse liver biology studies and liver-related disease research.
The in vitro hepatitis B-on-a-chip model uses a microfluidic cell culture platform with a continuous perfusion system and hepatitis B virus (HBV) replication cycle. Hepatocytes cultured in the liver sinusoid on a chip with a perfusion system are infected with HBV. HBV replicates in the hepatocytes and is secreted from the host cell. The expression of HBV proteins and duplication of HBV in septic cells can be found through immunofluorescence staining or polymerase chain reaction (PCR) analysis, singly.

Our hepatitis B-on-a-chip model can also assist you in numerous applications in other liver-related research and drug development and can be used for long-term studies of the consequence of a Hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection to human hepatocyte physiology.
